These sound plaques were custom built for junctQín by Kin Lau for the performance of Thierry de Mey’s Musique de Table. In 2010 and 2011, Canadian composers Susan Griesdale and members of the Toy Piano Composers Collective will also write for these instruments for junctQín. Made of very very thin plywood and foam, the boxes resonate when the hands touch, glide, slap, flick or tap on the surface.
